How it works
The Consistency Score, explained.
What it measures
Your Consistency Score is the percentage of expected days in a rolling window where you showed up for a habit — including Tiny Habit completions and Grace Days. It's a fair, honest read of your real pattern, not a perfectionist tally.
How it's calculated
For each habit we look at the last 30 expected occurrences based on its frequency (daily, X times per week, or X times per month). The score is:
consistency = (completed days + grace days) ÷ expected days × 100
Example: a daily habit you did 23 out of the last 30 days = 77%. A "3× per week" habit you did 10 out of the last 12 expected sessions = 83%. Tiny Habit completions count the same as full completions — the rule is "show up, don't be perfect."
Why it beats a streak
- One missed day doesn't wipe the slate. A streak punishes a single off day. A Consistency Score barely moves.
- It reflects real life. Travel, illness, and rest days are normal. Grace Days bake that in.
- It encourages return, not restart. When you miss, the next day still belongs to you — there's nothing to "start over."
- It works for flexible habits. A "3× a week" habit can't have a daily streak. A percentage can.

Habits & frequencies
Can I track weekly or monthly habits?+
Yes. Daily, X times per week, or X times per month — your choice. Frequency can be changed any time without losing history.
What is Tiny Habit Mode?+
A fallback version of any habit for low-energy days — e.g. 'one push-up' instead of '20 minutes at the gym'. Doing the tiny version still counts toward your Consistency Score.
What happens if I miss a day?+
Nothing breaks. Your Consistency Score reflects your real pattern. Grace Days are built in for rest, illness, or travel.
Reminders & notifications
Does the app send reminders?+
Yes. You can enable push notifications for morning, midday, and evening reminders. Reminders are gentle — no streak threats, no guilt trips.
Can I turn reminders off?+
Yes, any time. Go to Settings → Notifications. You can also pause individual reminders or change the times.
Account & data
How is this different from other habit apps?+
Most apps punish you for missing a day. We use a Consistency Score (e.g. 23/30 days = 77%) instead of streaks, plus Grace Days, Tiny Habit fallbacks, and a discovery feed.
Can I delete my account and data?+
Yes. Go to Settings → Account, or email support@habitoftheday.com and we'll handle it within 7 days.
